(A bunch of stuff that actually legitimately enhances security and privacy, so I can't really complain too much, but it was sad seeing TitaniumBackup die.) Based on the issues we've been hearing about with people getting locked out from accessing some of their data, I suspect 14 makes similarly large security enhancements. This is probably not a coincidence - they made some pretty big changes with Android 10 in particular and then 11 and 13 also made some large changes. Restoring data with TitaniumBackup for the same app on a much older Android OS version works fine, just not on the newer one. It's not really the app that's the problem but the system you're running it on. As far as I can determine, its data restore methods simply just don't work anymore. See one of the most thanked comment on play store from :Īs far as I can determine, attempting to restore data even for really old (even Android 4.x era which predate all the major changes from 5+) apps results in a crash on attempting to start said app when using TitaniumBackup with newer systems.
